“Time is really the only capital that any human being has, and the only thing he can’t afford to lose” – Thomas Edison
Everything in life requires time, a plant needs time and attention to grow, you achieve perfection in anything only with practice, and for practice you need to give yourself or that particular thing your time – be it perfection in work, studies or relations.
Time and attention are two things to be balanced and prioritized in the right manner to maintain a happy and peaceful life. We are all busy in something or the other, doing what we think is the most important thing to do. But are we paying attention to the things actually important?
Often, we give time only to the no.1 thing on the list because there is only one thing in the list, rest all of them are on the same number, they never exist. No.1 gets all the time and attention. All the other things are never stable because we don’t give them a piece from our cake of time. We think by putting things in place for our priority no.1 everything else will also fit in the right block. We forget that everything takes time to grow.
Talking about Relationships, they are holy, they build up strongly if you give in your heart and soul into it. You never know when and where you might require someone. If I may say it in Hindi “Rishta banana asaan hai par rishte nibhana mushkil” To build a relation, one needs to invest their time in it, why I use the word invest? You can spend time on useful and useless things, but if you call it “investing”, you’ll definitely invest it in something that has value and importance for you.
Everything in our lives should be prioritized in the order of their importance in your life, whether it is work, leisure, a relation or a person. It is very important to keep those things on a priority when you don’t want to lose them. People often don’t realize that they are not setting their priorities right, they are neglecting things or people who are supposed be the most important ones.
Once a speck of dust sits on the mirror of a relation, you will never be able to clean it. Life is very short to wait for the right time to make someone feel important. Relationships are precious, they have to be taken care of and given their share of importance and attention. Sometimes we work so hard and get ourselves stuck in the fast-moving world that we forget paying attention to our mothers needs, our father’s health, our sisters/ brother’s studies and our partners complaints. It is very important to balance both the ends to lead a happy life. Working will make you successful but prioritizing things and people will make you happier.
For instance, A mother, no matter how much ever busy she is, one cry and she leaves everything just to comfort her child? Aren’t we supposed to give her, her deserved share of time? We always take relationships for granted. A mother will never tell you to sit with her but she will always have that in mind. She will understand, or we can say she will adjust, but do we ever understand what she wants from us? For once if we put her on No.1 of our lists, talk to her or just sit with her for some extra hours, the smile on her face will give a satisfaction that nothing else in this world could give.
Not only with Mothers but this is the case with every other relation as well, its always a give and take. Today we have them, tomorrow we might not, or we might not exist only tomorrow. What we have today, we might not have that tomorrow. Bad times don’t last, but even good times don’t last that much, they can only be extended if we manage everything properly. Time will never stop, nor it will come back.. Its NOW when you have to sit down and ask yourself, are we investing our time properly on everything?
“There is never enough time to do everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing” – Brian Tracy
It is very important for us to realise that our priorities need to change according to the situation, we have to be smart enough to give time to things which need to be taken care of at that very moment. Being stubborn and selfish, thinking about our goals in life will only leave us unhappy and alone in the end. So, choose your goals wisely so that time you spend on them becomes an investment, not an expense.
Balancing and managing our time will make our environment happier which will ultimately make us feel contented, there is nothing more beautiful than happy relations and parallel running of our struggles for growth. If your relations are on point, your struggle is not just yours but you get help in getting closer to your goal.
“An inch of time is an inch of gold but you can’t buy that inch of time with an inch of gold” – Chinese proverb
The key to a happy life lies in your hands, your time is in your hands, you have to use it properly. Sometimes we also consider time to be ‘wasted’, but later you will understand that once considered the so called ‘wasted’ time got smiles on faces of some important people in your life. Those important people who were a part of your struggle, who cheered you up in your sorrows, with whom you shared your happiness with, who were happy to see your achievements. Achieving everything and having no one to share your happiness will never make you happy, you will always have something missing, will always feel incomplete. You will be left with nothing but regret, the regret of not being there or spending much time with people who left you. Regret of the feeling “I could have done this better”.
Now is the time to do everything, now is the time to confess love, express your emotions, now is the time to manage everything, now is the time to follow your passion, to fulfil your dreams, live in the present, give everything its share of attention. Don’t live with an attitude “I’ll do this later”. Time is not going to come back. Time has the power to heal, it has the power to sort things out. Giving time to yourself is also very important, to explore your inner self, to know what you really want.
SO, MANAGE TIME IN A WAY THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO BALANCE EVERYTHING, everything is important, only the priority needs to be shuffled accordingly.
“Everything is within the limits of time, but time moves under the direction of the Lord, who is therefore not within time’s limit” – Lord Krishna
Spend Time, Invest Time and live a happy Life Time
